SASO Certificate of Conformity (CoC)

SASO CoC

SASO Certificate of Conformity (CoC ) is a product conformity Program implanted by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and quality organization (SASO) for the imported products, which requires all products to obtain the CoC for customs clearance to place the products in the Saudi market.

The CoC confirms that the products comply with the relevant technical regulations and meet SASO standards for safety and suitability for use in Saudi Arabia.

The importers must register his facility and the products wished to be imported to the kingdom on Saber electronic platform, then a request to obtain a Product Certification of Conformity(PCoC) for a regulated products can be submitted. The client must  choose one of the SASO approved Certification Bodies to process and follow up the request and issue the certificate.

  • The authenticity of the issued certificate can easily be checked online as all products and certificates are registered on Saber Platform.

Types of certificates of conformity (CoC)

SASO developed a Products assessment program based on two certificates:

Product Certificate of Conformity (PCoC)

  • It is issued for each regulated product according to the technical regulations.
  • Requesting the PCoC on Saber should be initiated by the importer.
  • There are conformity documents required to obtain the PCoC such as test reports, risk assessment reports, inspection reports, etc.
  • It is valid for one year.

Shipment Certificate of Conformity (SCoC)

  • It is issued for each imported shipment to the kingdom.
  • Requesting the PCoC on Saber should be initiated by the importer.
  • The PCoC must be obtained before requesting the SCoC if the product is regulated.
  • The self-Declaration is required if the product is non-regulated.
