The Saudi Customs and the Saudi Ports Authority approved a new mechanism to deal with the abandoned goods that remained without finishing the required procedures and exceeded the regular period in the warehouses and squares of the kingdom’s ports,

This came in order to increase the average speed of the containers movement cycle in the shipping lines, and achieve the best use of the ports carrying capacity.

The conditions:

It is the shipments that exceeded the regular period in the ports, and their owners didn’t finish the required procedures.

This is applied to the imported shipments or the exports in the (land- sea- air) ports.

The regular period for abandoned goods is 15 days since the arrival date for Perishable goods, and 30 days for the other goods.

The mechanism contributes to optimizing and definite the abandoned goods procedures in order to emphasize the importance of goods clearance in the least time.
