The Saudi Standards and Saudi Accreditation Center signed a memorandum of cooperation

The Governor of the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Qasabi, and the Executive Director of the Saudi Accreditation Center, Dr. Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Qaida, signed a memorandum of cooperation to enhance cooperative work as part of the integration efforts between the kingdom organizations.

Dr. Al-Qasabi said: “This cooperation comes as a part of the authority’s continuous efforts to enhance its strategic partnerships with relevant parties from the public and private sectors,” referring to the vital role of such agreements in developing the quality infrastructure system in the Kingdom, which enhances the competitiveness of the national economy and improves the quality and safety of goods and products, and contributes to raising the efficiency of procedures aimed at protecting the consumer.

Dr. Al-Qaida cleared that the Saudi Accreditation Center is working to maintain cooperation with relevant government and private agencies to reach a distinguished level of integration and participatory work to raise the quality of services and products and maintain public health and safety.

The Executive Director of the Saudi Accreditation Center indicated that this cooperation will include advisory, technical, and scientific services and benefit from the national expertise and competencies that the two parties possess, to enhance quality and raise the level of consumer protection through the expansion of quality and accreditation works and services,  noting that the center will continue to work on devolving cooperation and integration with all relevant authorities to support the center work and enable it to commit to duties and achieve its national mission with high efficiency and professionalism.

It is noteworthy that the Saudi Accreditation Center aims to achieve the competence of conformity assessment bodies, protect consumers, maintain public health and safety, and grant confidence in the services of conformity assessment bodies, to enhance the participation of the private sector in investing in providing these services, as well as raise the level of quality, confidence, and adequacy of services and products.
